Anna Keresztes

Anna Keresztes

actor, member of Baltazar Theatre since 2001

Anna completed ten years of education at a special vocational school before she joined the Baltazar Company. At home, the love of theatre is a family tradition; her father is also an actor, performing at the National Theatre in Miskolc. Anna is glad and very proud to be an actor. Her first role was in Fading Rouge – she was the Mimosa Spirit. The mimosa or shy plant is very sensitive – if you get too close, it draws back. Anna felt that this role was very fitting for her. One of her other favourite parts was that of the waitress in Happy Hour. “It was very difficult, I struggled a lot – but it was worth it,” she remembers.

In her free time, she likes to paint, she’s an ardent theatre-goer, and writes poems about love and romance. What she likes most about Baltazar is that while she’s working she can completely shut out the outside world, which she sometimes finds too cold and dismissive. Love is very important to her – she once stood in the tram stop at Széll Kálmán Square and did a street performance, holding a heart-shaped balloon and saying, “Please accept my heart!” to all passers-by. She still doesn’t quite understand why they all hurried on without even looking at her.
