Balázs Erdős
actor, member of the Baltazar Theatre since 1998
Balázs has been a stalwart of Baltazar Theatre from the start. Although by his own admission he never planned on becoming an actor, he ended up finding himself and his vocation in Baltazar. Independence is very important to him – he lives in a flat of his own within the Egyenlő Esélyekért Alapítvány (Equal Opportunities Foundation) home in Csömör, a town near Budapest. He is a decidedly musical person, and has founded several amateur bands – to his mind the most memorable are the punk formation Szakadt alsónadrág and the band Baci, which he co-founded with his ex-wife Cecília Janzsó. In his spare time he likes to listen to music – Metallica, Tankcsapda, Pokolgép and Moby Dick are among his favourites – read detective stories, spend time with his friends and watch football matches. He’s a fan of the Hungarian team Ferencváros. Balázs also has a superpower: he can say any long word or sentence backwards without thinking. His favourite role in Baltazar Theatre was playing the part of the pirate in the play Fading Rouge. “There was both humour and gravity in that role, which is why I liked it.”
