Erzsébet Rafael
actor, member of Baltazar Theatre since 1998
Erzsébet has been a member of the Baltazar Theatre since the very beginning. She doesn’t just think of them as a theatrical company, she feels they are a community of friends. She lives in the National Institute for the Blind with her partner, and her favourite hobby is yoga – so much so that she often holds yoga lessons for the rest of the company. She also likes writing poetry, gardening, and helping the elderly.
Erzsébet is normally a gentle and caring person, but as soon as she sets foot on stage, she becomes a diva. For evidence, look no further than one of her favourite roles: the figure of Marilyn Monroe in Happy Hour. Her other most cherished role was in Feather Dance. “I played part mother, part girl from an institute in that one. The latter suited me very well, since I really am a girl from an institute.”
