Olívia Réti-Harmath
choreographer, director
As a fresh graduate of the Budapest Contemporary Dance College, Olívia was looking for opportunities to try herself out and work with special people. This is how she came across Baltazar Theatre, where Dóra Elek, head of the company, immediately offered her a position as dance teacher. “I was glad to take the opportunity, even though I was jumping in at the deep end. I feel I’ve found my footing now!”
Since then Olívia has co-directed two plays with Dóra Farkas: Dandelion in 2017 and its continuation, Dust, in 2019. Her work with the company charges her, and she feels that she is not only giving, but also receiving a lot: love, energy and sincerity. “This work is not an end in itself – it can help you evolve professionally and what’s more, as a person. Directness and openness surround the entire theatre, where everyone believes in the same thing: humanity.”
