Veronika Kovács
actor, member of Baltazar Theatre since 1998
Vera has been a member of the Baltazar Company since the very beginning. When Dóra Elek asked her if she wanted to be an actor, she accepted immediately, since she had been dreaming about pursuing this profession for a long time. She is a very conscientious actor; even when she’s at home, she spends a lot of time preparing for the rehearsals and performances. When she’s not engaged with theatre in some way, she listens to music; she loves ABBA and the Hungarian rock opera Stephen, the King. What she likes best about Baltazar is the community and the audience: that she’s part of a good team, and that the audience appreciates her work. Dóra Elek once told her, “Vera, you’re such a good actor, you deserve a national prize,” to which she replied that she would rather get an Oscar, if possible. Her favourite plays are The Comet and Gruffalo. In the latter, she played the role of a wise snake who loves humans rather than hurting them.
