Kérész Művek 92nd - Babel

Hungarian-Polish-Armenian community performance

International workshop and performance with able-bodied and disabled artists, in collaboration with Artus and Baltazár, the Polish Teatroterapia Lubelska and the Armenian National Centre for Aesthetics.

The performance will feature disabled and non-disabled artists from different countries – Poland, Armenia and Hungary. When we do not understand each other’s language, it becomes clear to what extent we speak the language of emotions and the soul. The performance dissects the question of how disabled and non-disabled people from different cultural backgrounds can approach each other.

The Babel confusion actually begins with the inner noise, as thoughts and emotions irreconcilably swirl within us. “Babel” is actually the loss of presence and the convulsive attempt to rebuild presence.
The Tower of Babel is a structure of individual and national vanity and pride. Demagogic and selfish ideologies and words lose their credibility and meaning. It does not bring people together, but distances them from each other. There is only one authentic form of expression left for man: action. Action, action, is the true manifestation of man. Actions speak sincerely.
