Kérész Művek 92nd - Mirror -Babel

Hungarian-Polish-Armenian community performance

International workshop and performance with able-bodied and disabled artists, in collaboration with Artus and Baltazár, the Polish Teatroterapia Lubelska and the Armenian National Centre for Aesthetics.

The Tower of Babel does not aim at the infinite, celestial, “divine” heights, but rather inward, into the depths of our own human world. A Great Plan, not driven by ambition and pride, but by compassion and co-thinking.
Let us seek the opposite of Babel, a vision of a common creation or structure that does not separate, does not isolate, but brings us together.
Let us seek the ancient common language, which is also the language of our future. This language may not even be a spoken language, since most of the time we do not understand each other even when we speak the same language.
Let us assume and hope that humanity, although millions of individuals, is also a
complex, unified, organically cooperating being.

The world is infinite both outwardly and inwardly.

The Tower of Babel is not built towards the external “divine infinity”, but towards the internal “human infinity”. Towards the center of humanity’s feeling and acting consciousness.

The performance will feature disabled and non-disabled artists from different countries – Poland, Armenia and Hungary. When we do not understand each other’s language, it becomes clear to what extent we speak the language of emotions and the soul. The performance dissects the question of how disabled and non-disabled people from different cultural backgrounds can approach each other.
